While Robert Downey Jr. has been doing plenty of press for his upcoming blockbuster Iron Man 2, due in theaters May 7, he also revealed some new details on another sequel in the works. MTV Movies Blog recently spoke with Downey Jr. who revealed some dish about Sherlock Holmes 2.

Downey spoke about who will return for the sequel, such as his Sherlock Holmes co-star Rachel McAdams, although it seems that those decisions haven’t been made as of yet.

“It’s hard to say [who is coming back]“. The biggest question mark is on Holmes’ love interest in the first outing, played by Rachel McAdams. “Because Irene Adler only appeared in one of the stories of Doyle’s reservoir of activities. But we’ll find out quickly.”

Rachel will be filming Midnight in Paris this summer and she’s attached to An Untitled Terrence Malick Project as well. In addition to promotion duties for Morning Glory later this year. I would say you could very easily bet on her not returning if it’s to film this year for those reasons alone. Personally, I hope she won’t be involved in the sequel because I didn’t not care for the first film but thats just me.

Sherlock Holmes 2 comes to theaters in 2012 and stars Robert Downey Jr.. The film is directed by Guy Ritchie.
